Work of Mind

I watch my mind at play,
Spinning false stories along the way,
I wait and tolerate my thoughts,
For not reacting I thanked God.
United with silence,
I learn when to follow it and when not.

Poem
Everyone is a thought—and so am I,
Carrying many stories,
A few are interesting,
But mostly repeating.
Which ones deserve my reply?
Which should I gently ignore?
I wait.
Waiting in silence is painful.
But if I manage—
I will find happiness and strength.
If I don’t, there is always next time.
